WorkKeys

Take the guesswork out of high-stakes decisions like hiring and promoting with WorkKeys.  WorkKeys is a fully integrated program developed by American College Testing (ACT) and offered through the Southeastern Institute of Manufacturing and Technology (SiMT).  The program is designed to assist employers to more accurately identify and develop specific on-the-job skills in both new and existing employees.  The WorkKeys system connects job analysis, assessments, and training for employers, makes it easier to meet the requirements of federal programs and legislation, supports economic and workforce development programs, and is the basis for the Career Readiness Certificate.

Train the Trainer

Training the Trainer has become more important as companies recognize the value of lifelong learning in the workplace and the need to create highly effective training programs internally.  Effective teaching is an art and a science.  SiMT’s methodology provide up-to-date information on learning theory, organizing materials into effective lessons and delivering the material to produce the desired outcomes, clearly yielding immediate benefit to trainers and training supervisors.

NCCER

The National Center for Construction Education and Research (NCCER) is a non-for-profit education foundation established by the nation’s leading construction companies.  NCCER was created to provide the industry with standardized construction education materials, the Contren “Learning Series, and a system for tracking and recognizing students training accomplishments, NCCER’s standard National Registry.

The National Registry provides students with industry credentials and assure national  portability of skills, NCCER’s has delivered over 1,500,000 credentials to construction students.  The National Registry provides transcripts, certificates, and wallet cards for students of the Contren Learning Series when training is delivered through an NCCER Accredited Training Sponsor and Instructor.

Industrial Maintenance

Investing in maintenance is always worthwhile and profitable. As the output capacity of machinery grows, the need for quality, dependable maintenance becomes more important. Maintenance training at SiMT covers all maintenance needs, from mechanics and automation to electricity. People working in maintenance are expected to do a great deal. Know-how needs to be at its peak so machines and equipment will work according to plan. Maintenance personnel must possess versatile skills as machines and equipment are constantly developing and becoming more complex.  Industrial maintenance introduces trainees to what they need to know to upgrade their skills as quickly and efficiently as possible.

The SiMT offers customized integrated and hands-on training for maintenance workers in all facets of mechanical, electrical and, industrial maintenance to industries throughout the Southeast.
